Late Rally Not Enough For Sliding Cutters

Game Highlights: August 16th, 2017 – The Crosscutters threatened late, but saw their 9th inning rally fall short, as they fell 5-1 to the Auburn Doubledays to open the road trip.

Andrew Brown took the loss, allowing five runs, four earned, on nine hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. Brown struggled with command, striking out one.

NYPL Charitable Foundation Awards Scholarship to Williamsport Student

The New York-Penn League Charitable Foundation has announced the recipients of over $10,000 in scholarships this summer to deserving high school graduates from the league's 14 markets.

The Williamsport Crosscutters are proud to announce that Williamsport High School graduate Kara Hershey has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Kara will be attending Clarion University this fall, majoring in Chemistry.

Cutters Break Losing Streak In 4-3 Win

Game Highlights: August 13th, 2017 – The Williamsport Crosscutters used a four-run 5th to edge the Tri-City ValleyCats, snapping a six-game losing streak in the process.

Josh Stephen picked up a two-run single in the 5th inning, giving the Cutters left fielder his 20th RBI of the seaosn, joining Jhailyn Ortiz as the only two Cutters with 20 or more RBI on the season.

Adam Haseley picked up a pair of RBI in the win, doing so without recording a base hit. The two RBI gives Haseley 18 for the season.

Greg Pickett picked up his 17th RBI of the season by drawing a bases loaded walk in the 5th inning.

Ramon Rosso made his New York-Penn League debut, tossing three shutout innings. Rosso struck out four, walked four and allowed three hits in the no decision.

David Parkinson earned the win, as he, Damon Jones and Randy Alcantara combined to allow two runs over six innings of relief.

Game Highlights: August 12th, 2017 – Mother Nature made her presence known as the Crosscutters were swept in a doubleheader by the Tri-City ValleyCats.

Game one of the doubleheader was delayed 63 minutes due to rain. Game two featured a 35 minute fog delay in the top of the 6th inning, totaling 98 minutes of delays on the day.

Even though there wasn't a game this evening, it was still a good night for photography. Cloudy evenings are perfect for not shadows which cause dark areas in the photograph. Tonight, we have some photos of the Lycoming County 14 year old girls softball team that won the national championship tournament in Virginia. We also have to give a shout out for the Cutters grounds crew who work so hard keeping the field in MLB Shape. And even though competitors, players from Tri-City and Williamsport enjoyed some laughs together.
